1Short title and extent.
Section 1 · Chapter I · page 3 of the Act
(1) This Act may be called the Hindu Succession Act, 1956.
(2) It extends to the whole of India 2***.
Note: footnote 1 on page 3 belongs to the Act number line (ACT NO. 30 OF 1956), the territories the Act has been extended to.
The Act hasbeen extended to Dadra and Nagar Haveli by Reg. 6 of 1963, s. 2 and First Schedule and to Pondicherry by Reg. 7 of 1963, s. 3 and First Schedule.
